by Jonathan Lawson

She’s got a knack for forgetting
She’s pretty smart for her dumb luck
She can’t hold on to her car keys
But she knows just how to open me up

She thinks the world is out to get her
But she’s got that world on a string
She’s got me wrapped around her finger
She’s all that I will ever need

She just is the caffeine in my coffee
She just is the skip that’s in my step
All you fellas ask me why
But I cannot specify all the reasons she is mine
She just is

We’ve shared our share of nasty weather
And we’ve taken broken roads alone
But she’s still the star that I can follow
She’s still the reason I come home

She just is the yellow in my sunshine
She just is my fireworks on the fourth
All you fellas ask me why
But I cannot specify all the reasons she is mine
She just is

I’m not too tired
And I’m not too old
But I’m headed west to try and catch
The last drop in a sea of gold

My feet are fire
And my legs are lead
And I’m racing shadows, trying to stay
One step ahead

And I am gonna chase the sun (twilight’s just begun)
Like an outlaw on the run
I’m gonna chase the sun

Time is more
Than heavy hands
Whirling planets and trading tides and
Slipping sand

And time can take
Your life away
Before you know the shadows fall
And gold fades to grey

by Jordan Lawson, Jonathan Lawson, and Cassandra Lawson

Slingshots, baseball cards
When no one needed walls to separate their yards
Pig tails, sunday dress
We’d dig for buried treasure and then come home a mess
They can’t make me act my age

Hold my, hold my, hold my, hold my hand
Like when you were Lois Lane and I was Superman
Oh my! Oh how everything was new
Back when we had time to kill
Back when we were Jack & Jill

Cell phones, business cards
And cubicles to keep the kiddies working’ hard
Hair back, pencil skirt
The last thing on your mind is getting in the dirt
Follow me, we’re playing hooky

Like summertime when we were young
Noses kissed by golden sun
On the edge and looking down
We held our breath and closed our eyes
Leaped into the deep blue skies
And plunged into the great unknown

by Jonathan Lawson, Matt Evans, and Jim Bloodgood

You say our love ain’t worth the struggle
It’s just an endless losing fight
But even dawn forgives the darkness
On the other side of night

Everybody has their mountains
And this looks like our great divide
But it might seem a little smaller
When we’re on the other side

We can fight the sharpest mountains
Or we could lay us down to die
We could light the darkest canyons
Or we could give in to the tide
You never know until we’ve tried
And we’re on the other side

We’ve been trying to dam the water
Instead of working on a bridge
So let’s wrestle these old rapids
Before we fall over the ridge

There ain’t no way around it
Cause we can’t carry all this pride
We won’t need it where we’re going
On the other side

You say our love ain’t worth the struggle
It’s just an endless losing fight
But maybe we’ll forgive each other
When we’re on the other side

by Cassandra Lawson

Well I got a little secret
I keep it in my pocket
And it goes a little something like this, shhh
She goes along with me
To every cit-a-city
Reminding my lips to say, shhh

But oh how nice would it be
To take her out so you can see that

Ooooh ooooh ooooh ooh ooh Baby
You’re making me shaky
Is it me, or am I just crazy for you?
Must be me cause I’m just crazy for you

Should I keep it all a secret
Could my hands stand to hold it
Could I keep it under lock and key
Or would my lips part ways making
A mouthful of space for those three little words I’m
Longing to say

Cause oh how nice would it be
To take her out for you to see that

Over the rainbow my love did follow
Could it be me, or are you just crazy for me too?

The wind is haunting on the prairie
And like a prophet, whispered warnings in our ears
But we were Fast asleep and dreaming, when the whispers turned to screaming
And the flames were rising high enough to hear

Wildfire, wildfire
Glowing embers of our life
Burning inside, we say goodbye
Wildfire

It’s Hard to keep a fire from burning
When You’ve got smokin’ matches in your hands
We tried to fight with water but it made the flames burn hotter
And we were left with dusty bones and broken land
