Oh my love! How can this be?
That you have left me for the sea
And now my heart sinks like a stone
Cause I must sail this world alone
To the sea, to the sea
Where my true love waits for me
We must drift a world apart
Until the sea reclaims my heart
In my mind you’ll ever be
Young, eternal, wild, and free
In our time you filled me up
Like the ocean fills a cup
Like the tides that ebb and flow
True love comes and it must go
We will all run out of sand
Just like water through our hands

I am completely enamored with this song, but I’m an amateur guitarist. Might you have the chords to your music up anywhere?

Hi Karen! It makes me happy that “To the Sea” strikes a chord with you. We haven’t posted any tabs or sheet music anywhere online, but if it helps, the song is in C#. I capo the first fret and play it in C…
I hope that helps. If I ever get any time I’ll write it out and post it for you!

This song is completely amazing. I thought for sure it was an old folk song, but I was delighted when I found that you’d written it. It’s just lovely and gives me such a happy feeling. Fabulous job.

Thanks for the comment Rachael! I am very proud of “To The Sea.” It was one of those tunes that just came together really quickly and didn’t need much editing. It’s a really fun song to sing every night!

Yep, this song gets in there. Just watched the video to Spokane. Pretty funny especially the “dog food” comment. Noticed the NYC date, will see if I can put a business trip in there to see you. Great music!! Thanks for the gift.
